Castries, Saint Lucia: The government of Saint Lucia launched the calendar of events in commemoration of the 44th anniversary of the Independence of the country slated from January 30 to March 12, 2023.
The launch highlights Saint Lucia’s culture and art via a schedule of planned events and also unveils a theme, logo and jingle in preparation for the February 22 celebration. The launch of the 44th Independence Anniversary celebrations was held at the Finance Administrative Centre on Monday, January 30, at 10 am.
The calendar of events for Saint Lucia’s 44th anniversary is as follows:
People were asked to join the LIVE broadcast via the National Television Network (NTN). The event was also streamed LIVE via the Government of Saint Lucia’s Facebook and YouTube social media pages.
Prime Minister of Saint Lucia- Philip J Pierre, also shared the update and stated, “Today we launched the 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝟒𝟒 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬
January 30th – March 12th, 2023. There is something for everyone, be sure to participate. 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐚 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝑫𝒐𝒖𝒗𝒂𝒏 𝑨𝒏𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒎: 𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝑷𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆. 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑶𝒖𝒓 𝑫𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒚.”
Deputy Prime Minister Ernest Hilaire also attended the official press launch for the 44th Independence anniversary celebrations. He took to Facebook and noted, “Today I attended the Official Press Launch for our 44th Independence Anniversary celebrations under the theme, ‘Douvan Ansanm: One People. Shaping Pur Destiny’. The celebrations will include activities from Monday, January 30, to Sunday, March 12. Let us keep building our Nation, our Fair Helen of the West, together as one.”
