Castries, Saint Lucia: Two more matches were completed as the 2023 Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Secondary Schools 50 Over Cricket Tournament in Saint Lucia continued on Tuesday, March 7.

First match: Babonneau Secondary beats Sir Ira Simmons 

Victories were registered for Babonneau Secondary over Sir Ira Simmons and for Castries Comprehensive over Entrepot Secondary. At the Gros Islet Playing Field, Babonneau Secondary enjoyed a 57 run victory over Sir Ira Simmons Secondary in Saint Lucia. 

Babonneau Secondary batting first made 153 all out in 24.2 overs with Joshua Solomon making 47, Marlon Henry 36 and Desir Paul 17. The wicket takers for Sir Ira Simmons Secondary were; Cornelius Edmund with 3 for 33 in 5 overs, Tayshaun Gervais with 2 for 0 in 2 balls, Russell Cadette with 2 for 21 in 5 overs, female player Selena Ross with 2 for 29 in 7 overs and 1 wicket to Jarvis Weekes.

In reply, Sir Ira Simmons Secondary was bowled out for 96 in 19 overs, with Russell Cadette making 27 and female player Selena Ross 11. The wicket takers for Babonneau Secondary were; Jeankim Nelson with 5 for 30 in 7 overs, Cansius Simon with 3 for 32 in 6 overs and 1 wicket each to Kaleel Whaul and Joshua Solomon.

RESULT: BABONNEAU SECONDARY WON OVER SIR IRA SIMMONS BY 57 RUNS.

Second match: Castries Comprehensive Secondary beats Entrepot Secondary

At the Mindoo Philip Park, Castries Comprehensive Secondary had the better of Entrepot Secondary, defeating them by 66 runs in Saint Lucia. Castries Comprehensive batting first made 209 for 7 in 31 overs at the cut off time, with Jaiquan Sam leading the scoring with a well played century.

He made a brilliant 108, inclusive of 14 fours and five sixes. Other useful scores came from Kareem Francis with 15 and J’dell Louis with 14.

The wicket takers for Entrepot Secondary were; Jade Charles with 3 for 50 in 8 overs, female player Zaida James with 2 for 30 in 5 overs and one wicket each to Jaden Byron and J’Quan Jules.

In reply, Entrepot Secondary finished on 143 all out in 21.2 overs, with Joshua Cepal top scoring with a well played 84, which included 14 fours and Zadia James 12.

The wicket takers for Castries Comprehensive were; J’dell Louis with 3 for 8 in 3.2 overs, Kaylum Thomas with 3 for 34 in 6 overs and one wicket each to Sarm Mayers, Cayden Francois and Vince Rogers.

RESULT: CASTRIES COMPREHENSIVE SECONDARY WON OVER ENTREPOT SECONDARY BY 66 RUNS.
