Saint Lucia: Know results of two matches played in cricket tournament with UK

The Northern Cluster Grassroots ages 13 years and under representative team continued their engagements with the UK school teams currently on island with two more matches on Thursday, March 30, at the lush green, Monchy Playing Field of Saint Lucia.

In the first game of the day vs Shrewsbury House School 1, the Northern Cluster Grassroots boys batting first made 193 for 3 in their allotted 20 overs, with Ethan Perineau making 73 and Kanil Nelson 59 not out.

In return, the Shrewsbury House School 1 were restricted to 89 for 7 in their 20 overs.

The wicket takers for the Northern Cluster Grassroots team of Saint Lucia were; Liam Stevens and Troy “Baby Shark” Prospere, with two wickets each and one wicket a piece to Neil Poyotte and nine-year-old Leonardo Norville.

In game #2 of the day, vs Shrewsbury House School team 2, the Northern Cluster Grassroots young cricketers again triumphed.

Batting first, the Northern Cluster Grassroots representative team made 136 for 4 in 20 overs, with Dante Eugene making 30 retired, Neil Poyotte 27, Ethan Pernieau 15, Cypriani Norville 14 and Joel Butcher retiring on 11.

In reply, the Shrewsbury House School was dismissed for 59 in 15 overs.

The wicket takers for the Northern Cluster Grassroots team were; Troy “Baby Shark”Prospere with 3 wickets, Leonardo Norville with 2 wickets and 1 wicket each to Liam Stevens, Joel Butcher, Neil Poyotte and Dante Eugene.

The Northern Cluster Grassroots/ Ministry of Youth Development and Sports/ Gros Islet Community After-school Cricket Training Program continued on Thursday, March 30, 2023, with a general training session at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground of Saint Lucia.
