The 2023 Northern Cluster Grassroots/Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Summer Cricket Camp continued on Wednesday, August 23 with Day #12 at the Gros Islet Playing Field.
The day’s activities took the form of a 35 over-a-side match among Under 19 and Senior players and Cricket Skill Development with the other campers.
The teams were led by Tyrel Chicot and Ryan Goodman. Tyrel Chicot’s team batting first made 225 for the loss of 10 wickets with Noel Leo top scoring with a well-played 60 inclusive of 6 fours and four sixes.
Other useful scores came from Ashton Alexander with 46, Amari Venner and skipper Tyrel Chicot 22 with 22 each, Darvin Forde 18 and Jayxan Justin 14.
The wicket-takers for Ryan Goodman’s team were, Dane Edward with 4 for 31 in 6 overs, Selena Ross 3 for 18 in 4 overs, Jaden Elibox 3 for 19 in 8 overs and 1 wicket each to Royce Paul and Leon Alexander.
In reply, Ryan Goodman’s team finished on 227 for the loss of 10 wickets with Dane Edward making 36, Stephen Abaharam and Leon Alexander 31 each, Kevin Gassie 26, Royce Paul 20 and Kamanie Laure 15.
Tyrel Chicot’s was the most successful bowler for his team with 4 for 48 in 7 overs. The other wicket takers were, Darvin Forde with 3 for 47 in 6.5 overs, Isaiah Jones 2 for 13 in 7 overs and 1 wicket each to Rene Montoute and Amari Venner.
The 6th Annual Northern Cluster Grassroots Summer Cricket Camp continued on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 with Day #9 spent having fun at a private beach in the North of the Island.
The sixty (60) strong campers spent the day in a picnic setting, playing various games, relaxing sea bath and having lots to eat and drink.
The 2023 Northern Cluster Grassroots Summer Cricket Camp continued on Tuesday, August 8 with Day #8 at the Beausejour Indoor Facility. Following another Fun Day of Cricket Skill Development Activities, the campers stayed over to enjoy a sleepover.
