The regular Saturday morning Northern Cluster Grassroots Cricket Development Programme continued on October 1, 2022 at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground with yet another wonderful training session.

Castries, Saint Lucia: The regular Saturday morning Northern Cluster Grassroots Cricket Development Programme continued on October 1, 2022 at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground with yet another wonderful training session.

Fifty nine (59) young male and female cricketers thoroughly enjoyed the 4 hour long session from 9:30am to 1:30pm.

The session took the following format:

* Prayers/ Welcome etc.

* Warm-up activities (an exciting catching game).

* Physical Conditioning (Uper body and Core strengthening).

* Game sense in Fielding (crow hop method & target throwing).

* High and close catching.

* Game sense in a match setting for older participants.

* Introduction to hard ball (fielding, throwing, backing up and bowling) with younger participants ages 6 to 12 years old.

* Mini cricket match for younger participants.

The coaches who conducted the training session were Alton Crafton, Malika Edward, and Mateo Boulonge.

Logistical support was provided by Ms Roseline Preville. 

The Northern Cluster Grassroots/ Ministry of Youth Development and Sports, Gros Islet Afterschool/ Community Cricket Training Program continued on Friday September 30, 2022 with optional training at the Beausejour Indoor Facility. The Northern Cluster Grassroots/ Ministry of Youth Development and Sports, Gros Islet Afterschool/ Community Cricket Training Program continued on Thursday September 29, 2022 at the Beausejour Indoor Facility. 

Ministry of Youth and Sports of Saint Lucia extended Special Congratulations to TARRIQUE EDWARD having been named on the CWI Rising Stars Under 19 Cricket Team and also selected on the St Lucia National Senior Mens Cricket Team for the 2022 Windward Islands Super 50 Championship.

The Northern Cluster Grassroots Cricket Program/ Gros Islet Cricket Association acknowledges and feels very proud of TARRIQUE’S accomplishments.

Wishing him all the success possible as he makes his debut on the National Senior Male Cricket Team. Certainly a bright future ahead for the talented all-round cricketer (Right arm off-spinner/ Right handed top order batsman/ Brilliant all round fieldsman).
