Castries, Saint Lucia: The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports of Saint Lucia hosted the 41st National Sports Awards on Friday, February 18, 2023. The sports ministry announced the results of the sports awards. 

Prime Minister of Saint Lucia- Philip J Pierre also extended greetings to the winners. He cited, “Congratulations to all the sportsmen and women who were celebrated at the 41st National Sports Awards.” 

To the parents, coaches, administrators, officials, the Ministry of Sports and support systems who assist our athletes in their daily quest for excellence, thank you for showing up. 

  • Junior Sportswoman of the Year – Mikaili Charlmagne (Swimming)
  • Junior Sportsman of the Year – Tristan Dorville (Swimming)
  • Sportswoman of the Year – Julien Alfred (Athletics)
  • Sportsman of the Year Jayhan Odlum-Smith (Swimming)

The Saint Lucia Aquatics Federation congratulates the awardees who were honoured at The Saint Lucia National Awards last evening.

  • Junior Sports Man of the year – Tristan Dorville
  • Junior Sports Woman of the year – Mikaili Charlemagne
  • Sports Man of the year – Jayhan Odlum Smith
  • Administrator of the Year – Yasmin Tyson
  • Club of the Year – Lightning Aquatics Swim Club
  • Saint Lucia Aquatics Federation: “One Federation, Shaping its Athletes”

Guibion Ferdinand also extended greeting and stated,”Help me congratulate Miss Kerin Neptune who was named Saint Lucia’s 2023 Female Volleyballer of the Year at last evening’s National Sports Awards Ceremony. I’m exceedingly proud of my former student athlete. Kerin is a product of the Blanchard Combined School, the Micoud Secondary School and the Desruisseaux Volleyball Team. She is part of a large pool of second generation athletes who continue to make our community and country proud. Big up Kerin.”

The Ministry of Youth Development & Sports is proud to announce the athletes nominated for the upcoming National Sports Awards, which was hosted at the Royalton Resort & Spa on February 18 2023. The event follows the recently concluded Interschool Sports and marks the first major sports awards ceremony following a two-year Covid-19 hiatus.

The National Sports Awards will recognize the extraordinary achievements of Saint Lucia’s top athletes, with awards being presented in several categories, including Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year, as well as Junior Sportsman and Junior Sportswoman of the Year.
