The 2023 Gros Islet Domestic Cricket Tournament, sponsored by District Representative Kenson Casimir continued with the 20/20 format on Thursday, January 26 at the Gros Islet Playing Field in Saint Lucia.

Castries, Saint Lucia: The 2023 Gros Islet Domestic Cricket Tournament, sponsored by District Representative Kenson Casimir continued with the 20/20 format on Thursday, January 26 at the Gros Islet Playing Field in Saint Lucia. 

Defending champions GERSON STRIKERS totally outplayed MELIUS CHALLENGERS registering a comfortable 9 wicket victory. Batting first MELIUS CHALLENGERS was dismissed for 62 in 11.2 overs with captain Khan Elcock making 22 and Keygan Arnold 11.

The wicket takers for GERSON STRIKERS were Jaden Elibox with 3 for 18 in 4 overs, Kyle Adonis 2 for 3 in 2 overs, Johnnel Eugene 2 for 5 in 2.2 overs and one wicket each to Tyrel Chicot and Lee Solomon in Saint Lucia. 

In reply, GERSON STRIKERS easily got to the target finishing on 67 for 1 in 7.3 overs with Mateo Boulogne leading the way with 38 not out and Johnnel Eugene 13 not out.

The lone wicket taker for MELIUS CHALLENGERS was Dillan John.

The Man of the Match went to Jaden Elibox for his brilliant bowling spell of 3 for 18 in 4 overs.

The tournament continues on Saturday January 28 with 30 over a side match among male player 15 years and younger together with U19 female players from 9:30 am at the Gros Islet Playing Field.

This game will be followed by a 50 over a side match between EDWARD BLASTERS and GERSON STRIKERS from 2 pm at the same venue.
