Castries, Saint Lucia: Helpaws (Help Animal Welfare in St Lucia) is an organization that addresses the unnecessary suffering of animals in Saint Lucia through rescue work and regular FREE Spay and Neuter clinics asked people to adopt dogs and puppies.

There are currently 75 puppies at the shelter, 3 in foster homes in Canada, and 1 in a foster in New Y. That’s 79 dogs in need of forever homes, with more coming into the shelter every single day.
Last week we received four applications to adopt. FOUR, & the last several weeks have not been much better. On top of that, we only received a few hundred in donations last week.
Honestly, we CANNOT keep operating without adopters and donations. We can’t continue taking in animals and feeding 75+ hungry babies if we can’t afford to buy food or treat their wounds and illnesses. We can’t keep increasing the number of animals in our care when there are so few families willing to open their hearts and homes. This is just the harsh reality.
We are sinking. Quickly. And if we sink, thousands of animals will be left without anyone advocating for them, without a voice, and without a chance at a better life.
I don’t want to abandon them. I don’t think my heart could handle knowing what their future will hold if we aren’t able to continue our work here in St Lucia. But we can’t do this without YOU.
Day after day, we have thousands of people view our stories, yet only a small handful share them. People have no hesitation in sharing a meme but don’t share a post about saving the lives of the animals in need.
We get that not everyone can adopt or donate, but everyone CAN click on the “share” button and, by sharing our posts, more people will learn about HelpAWS, which in turn will bring in more adoption applications and more donations.
