Castries, Saint Lucia: Gerson Strikers became the champions of the 2023 Gros Islet Domestic 20/20 Cricket Tournament of Saint Lucia on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. While securing the victory by 64 runs, the Strikers defeated the Goodman Warriors in the final match of the tournament.
Alton Crafton- Coach of the cricket teams in Saint Lucia, took to Facebook and congratulated the winning team. He also dropped snapshots of the match and stated that it was wonderful witnessing such an exciting match.

In the tournament’s Grand Finals played on Wednesday, March 1 under the floodlights at the Gros Islet Playing Field, GERSON STRIKERS defeated GOODMAN WARRIORS in a very exciting match by 46 runs.
GERSON STRIKERS batting first, made 171 for 9 in their allocated 20 overs, with Ackeem Auguste and Mateo Boulogne making 39 each, Kyle Adonis, Johnnel Eugene and captain Tyrel Chicot with 12 each and Jaden Elibox and Lee Solomon with ten each.
The wicket takers for GOODMAN WARRIORS were; Zayee Antione with 4 for 28 in 4 overs, Lee John with 2 for 20 in 4 overs, Qiana Joseph with 2 for 32 in 4 overs and one wicket to Kevin Gassie.
In reply, GOODMAN WARRIORS were restricted to 125 all out in 17.5 overs, with Rene Montoute making 30, captain Jard Goodman 27, Lee John 19, Nyeem Rosemond 15 and Zayee Antione 10.
The wicket takers for GERSON STRIKERS were; Jaden Elibox with 3 for 17 in 4 overs, Johnnel Eugene with 3 for 26 in 3.5 overs, Tyrel Chicot with 2 for 23 in 3 overs and one wicket each to Bjorn Fanis and Lee Solomon.
The Man of the Match Award went to JADEN ELIBOX for his impressive bowling (3 for 17 in 4 overs) to lead his team GERSON STRIKERS, to victory.

The District Representative Cricket Tournament continues over the weekend with the Semi-Finals of the 50-Over format. On Saturday, March 4, 1st place team GERSON STRIKERS plays 4th place team MELIUS CHALLENGERS from 10:00 am at the Gros Islet Playing Field.
On Sunday, March 5, 2nd place team EDWARD BLASTERS plays 3rd place team GERSON STRIKERS again from 10:00 am at the Gros Islet Playing Field.
