Castries, Saint Lucia: Gerson Strikers advanced into the 2023 Gros Islet Domestic Cricket Tournament’s grand finals after defeating Edward Blasters in Saint Lucia on Thursday, February 23, 2023.
The Grand Finals of the 2023 Gros Islet Domestic Tournament (20/20 format) will be contested between GOODMAN WARRIORS and GERSON STRIKERS.
GERSON STRIKERS advanced into the tournament’s Grand Finals sponsored by District Representative of Gros Islet; Kenson Casimir after completing an exciting 3 run victory over EDWARD BLASTERS on Thursday February 23 under the flood lights at the Gros Islet Playing Field.
GERSON STRIKERS batting first made 176 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs with Mateo Boulogne top scoring with a patient knock of 59 inclusive of 7 fours and 1 six, Ackeem Auguste 26, Lee Solomon 22 not out, Skipper Tyrel Chicot 13 and 10 each to Johnnel Eugene and Jaden Elibox.
The wicket takers for EDWARD BLASTERS were; Darvin Forde, Kester Charlemagne and Stuart Calderon. The other three wickets fell via the Run Out Route.
In reply, EDWARD BLASTERS finished on 173 for 5 in their 20 overs, with Stephen Naitram making 46, Shawnil Edward 44, Kester Charlemagne 28, Stavone Gabriel 24 and Caleb Thomas 19.
The wicket takers for GERSON STRIKERS were; Tyrel Chicot with 2 for 24 in 4 overs and Johnnel Eugene 2 for 31 in 3 overs. The Man of the Match Award went to MATEO BOULONGE for his well played knock of 59 to guide his team GERSON STRIKERS to victory.
