Castries, Saint Lucia: Three of the four scheduled matches in the Scotts Sports and Awards / SLFA Inc, Premier Cup materialized on Tuesday evening. Due to an electrical fault with the transformer at the Gros Islet Playing Field the first scheduled match between Central Castries and Canaries had to be called off.

However, efficient repair work by Lucelec enabled the second match between Gros Islet and Dennery to take place with the home team winning 2 – 1 with goals from Aaron Richard and Raphael Joseph in the 5th and 88th min.

Dennery’s lone goal was scored by Jamie Prospere in the 82nd min.

Down at the Phillip Marcellin Grounds in Vieux Fort, La Clery got off to a winning start with a comfortable 2 – 0 victory over Vieux Fort North. They got their goals from Jonathan Ailene in the 34th min and the prolific Andrus Remy in the 86th min.

In the other game played, Vieux Fort South after enjoying a 1 – 0 lead at half time drubbed Marchand 6 – 0. They got their goals from Kimani Joseph with a brace in the 75th and 85th min and the others from Saviola Elva, Riquelme Elva, Donavan Perpie and Noah Nicholas in the 13th, 47th, 58th and 71st min, respectively.

The Saint Lucia Football Association Inc. continues with its drive-in building capacity amongst its affiliates with the staging of a five Day, D Licence Coaching Workshop at the Access Centre in Soufriere from Wednesday 21st – Sunday 25th September 2022.

The Workshop will realise approximately 20 male and female coaches participating from the Canaries, Choiseul and Soufriere Football Leagues.

The Workshop which will be both theoretical and practical in nature is being facilitated by Messers Cyril Cess Podd, Emmanuel Bellas, Solomon Alexander, John Sealy Keith Caroo and Sabattus Hunte.

  • Coaching Methodology
  • Football Environment
  • Safety and Safe Guarding Policies
  • Nutrition and Performance
  • Technical and Tactical Training and
  • Using Small Sided games

It is anticipated upon completion, of the Five Day Workshop, the coaches will undergo a period of continuous evaluation and assessment leading up to their Certification.
