Saint Lucia Football Association kicks off Talent Identification Program

The Saint Lucia Football Association Inc., Talent Identification Program, kicks off on Saturday, May 6 2023, with the initial Launch of the Western Zone at the Marigot Playing Field from 10.00 am and ending at 12.00 noon.

Castries, Saint Lucia: The Saint Lucia Football Association Inc., Talent Identification Program, kicks off on Saturday, May 6 2023, with the initial Launch of the Western Zone at the Marigot Playing Field from 10.00 am and ending at 12.00 noon.

This long-term project caters to youngsters, both males and females, between the ages of 10 – 14 years, and on Saturday, participants will be drawn from Anse La Raye, Canaries, Roseau and South Castries.

While two coaches have been assigned to each Centre, however, all the coaches involved in the island-wide program will be present on the day.

Following Saturday’s Launch, the other Centers will be up and kicking from the following days.

  • Eastern Zone – Desruisseaux – May 13
  • Southern Zone – Soufriere – May 20 and
  • Northern Zone – La Clery – May 27 2023

Meanwhile, matches continue in the Saint Lucia Football Association Inc. President Cup on Thursday, May 4. At the Dennery Playing Field, Garrand plays Big Players at 6.00 pm, to be followed by Agardianz against NYAH at 8.00 pm. 

Down at the Desruisseaux Playing Field, Faith United comes up against Desruisseaux United at 6.00 pm, and at 8.00 pm, Shambala Shiloh plays Black Eagles. Elsewhere, Saint Lucian centre-back Doneal Lionel joins Trinbagonian club Morvant Caledonia United FC from Monchy United FC. 

Saint Lucia Football Association is committed to hosting such events such as the staging of the SLFA’s Inc President Cup.  Earlier, the President’s Cup 2023 witnessed the match between Bid Players and Aux Lyons United at 6 pm on May 2 at Dennery PF stadium. 

Another match was held between Nyah and CT Foundation at 8 pm. On May 2, 2023, the match was held between DX United and Black Eagles at 6 pm at Desruisseaux PF stadium. The second match was held between Uprising and Shambala at 8 pm. The match was held at the same stadium. 

Saint Lucia Football Association hosted several football to enhance football skills among the players and people who wanted to pursue their carrier in the sporting event.
