Castries, Saint Lucia: Saint Lucia Football Association hosted President Cup and several matches were played on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. 

Matches continued in the Saint Lucia Football Association Inc. President Cup on Tuesday, 2nd May 2023. With a stunning second half display at home, Desruisseaux United overcame a disappointing 3 – 0 deficit to shockingly defeat Black Eagles 4 – 3 in one of the better games in the competition to date.

This victory they owed to Edrick Popo with a brace in the 58th and 84th min, Brad Bideau 55th min and an own goal the equaliser by Mervin Auguste in the 61st min.

Earlier, Sharm Pierre, Darrell Francis and Anil Campsell scored for Black Eagles in the 3rd, 9th and 23rd min respectively. In the night’s final game Shambala Shiloh, after trailing 1 – 0 in the first half rebounded with three late goals in the second half to upstage Uprising 3 – 1.

They got their goals from Kurtrum Samuel 82nd, Kervel Joseph an own goal in the 88th and Zayard Elva in the 90th min. Over at the Dennery Playing Field Big Players earned a hard fought 2 – 1 victory over Aux Lyon United. They got their goals from Lincoln Phillip and Valdez Maxime in the 43rd and 72nd min, respectively with the former being a penalty.

Donavan Romnis scored for Aux Lyons in the 26th min. In the second encounter, NYAH FC, held their own to get past CT Foundation 2 – 0 Their goal scorers were Oneil Alexander, 37th, and a penalty in the 71st min. to seal the win.

Meanwhile, Saint Lucian attacker Saviola Elva joins Trinbagonian club W Connection FC from Platinum FC. The 20-year-old scored five goals in nine games for his former club last season in the SLFA Division One.

Matches continued in the SLFA’s Inc. President Cup on Saturday 29th April 2023. Over at the Dennery Playing Field, and in what turned out to be a thrilling contest Nyah FC and Big Players played to a 1 – 1 draw.
