Castries, Saint Lucia: The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports of Saint Lucia premiered the Season 1 Finale of its hit youth television program, CROSSROADS, on Wednesday, 23rd November 2022.
Following its inaugural show in February 2022, the program successfully aired nine episodes this year, all designed to recognize enterprising and inspiring youth making a difference in their communities, nationally and internationally. CROSSROADS also creates a live, safe space for youth to meet to discuss topical issues affecting their lives.
According to Minister Kenson Casimir, “Each episode highlighted young people in ways we would not engage ordinarily. We get to learn more about our youth, their journeys, and how they are positively impacting the people around them despite obstacles. These stories serve as inspiration to their peers and hopefully, Crossroads can motivate others to take more productive life paths and contribute positively as citizens in our society.”
CROSSROADS Director/Producer, Youth & Sports Officer Nickson Barry says the challenges encountered in Season one, place the show on a path to improvement in 2023.
“I am proud of our youthful team who handled our difficulties with professionalism and resolve. There are still several aspects of the program yet to be unlocked and we hope to make our second season, bigger and better.”
The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports thanks the core team Jhaka Wooding, Kherim Nelson, Sasha Polius, MacLean Remy, Randy Joseph and Kizuwanda Alexander. Special thanks to Permanent Secretary Caroline Eugene, former Director of Youth Development and now Deputy Permanent Secretary Mary Wilfred and the staff of the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports.
The Ministry expressed gratitude to the sponsors KFC, Events St. Lucia, the staff at GIS, DBS, our viewers, and supporters. CROSSROADS Season 2 is expected to return in February 2023.
