Castries, Saint Lucia: The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority is leading a sales mission from February 1-6, 2023, in Guyana in preparation for the inaugural flight with British Airways on March 27, 2023. The mission aims to tap into the vastly expanding Guyana market to promote Saint Lucia’s tourism and attract more visitors.
The mission is led by Lorine Charles-St. Jules, CEO of the Tourism Authority, and includes representatives and service providers of the Saint Lucia Hospitality & Tourism Association.
The sales mission is in partnership with the Guyana Tourism Board to help promote the flight and its advantages to potential travellers from Guyana and aims to increase air connectivity between Saint Lucia and Guyana, with the goal of stimulating the tourism sector on both sides.
Saint Lucia’s sales strategy includes a ‘Lunch N Learn’ session with travel advisors, CARICOM and diaspora leaders, marketing activities, and promotional activities including a destination showcase at Giftland Mall on Saturday February 4, 2023.
This forms part of the Tourism Authority’s strategy to increase tourism in the Caribbean region and to promote the country as a preferred tourist destination. The Authority recognizes this as an opportune time for the islands to capitalize on the twice weekly service from London’s Gatwick International Airport to the Cheddi Jagan International Airport in Guyana, via Saint Lucia.
Guyana is now more informed about Saint Lucia following the Caribcation Saint Lucia showcase at Giftland Mall in Guyana, on February 4, 2023.
The interactive showcase welcomed thousands of enthusiastic patrons who learned of Saint Lucia’s adventure, culinary, romance, wellness options and much more.
Visitors to the showcase were delighted to interact with and purchase on-the-spot packages with hotel partners; Stolentime, Bay Gardens Resorts, and Harmony Marina Suites and engage with knowledgeable Guyanese based travel agents who joined the showcase.
Visitors to the mall learned of the direct flight which will be introduced with British Airways between Guyana and St Lucia on March 27, 2023. The service will operate on Mondays and Thursdays, and serves as another option to the destination alongside Caribbean Airlines and InterCaribbean.
The overall mission forms part of the Authority’s strategy to increase tourism and promote the country as a preferred tourist destination in partnership with the Guyana Tourism Authority.
One lucky patron to the Caribcation Saint Lucia showcase will walk away with an all expense paid 5-night trip for two to the Bay Gardens Beach Resort. The draw will be conducted on February 7, 2023 and the winner will be announced on Caribcation Saint Lucia social media channels.
