Castries, Saint Lucia: The Saint Lucia Football Association Inc. has released a schedule of the various regional competitions it will be participating in. Currently, the Senior Men National team is in Anguilla where they play their away game in the Concacaf Nations League 2022 – 23 competition on Friday, 24th March, at 3.00 pm against Anguilla.

They then play their return leg against Dominica in the said competition at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground of Saint Lucia on Monday, 27th March. The next engagement for the said team is the 2023 – 24 Gold Cup tournament scheduled for 24th June – 16th July at a venue to be decided.

Then in September, the team will be participating in the 2023 – 24 Concacaf Nations League in Group B. The National Under 14 Girls will commence training on Saturday, 25th March, at the Technical Centre in Grande Riviere Dennery. This is in preparation for the CFU Under 14 Challenge Series scheduled for the 18th – 28th of August 2023. 

The Girls Under 17 are scheduled to participate in the Concacaf Qualifiers in August. The Under 20 Girls team continues its training in preparation for the World Cup Qualifiers scheduled for Nicaragua from the 14th April 2023. Saint Lucia has been placed in Group F with the following teams are as follows: 

  • Belize
  • Costa Rica
  • Guatemala and
  • Nicaragua

As part of its preparation the team will be travelling to Barbados from 31st March – 2nd April where they will be engaged in two Friendlies. The team is under the guidance of Head coach Emmanuel Bellas. The other teams who will be engaged in the competition are the Boys Under 13, Under 15 Boys and the Senior Women team.

One match was played in the La Clery Football League Under 15 Boys tournament on Tuesday 21st March at the La Clery Playing Field between guest teams Flames FC of Marchand and CT Foundation of Roseau, two unbeaten teams.

In the lone encounter, CT Foundation maintained their unbeaten run in the competition with an exciting and competitive 4 – 1 victory over Flames FC.

They got their goals from Jeremiah Berthier with a hatrick and the opener from Nilroy Marius. Stephon Annius pulled one back for Flames FC. Meanwhile, matches continue in the said competition with LA All Stars playing Agardianz on Thursday 23rd March at Agard.

Elsewhere, the election of the Saint Lucia Football Association Inc. Vice President for the Western Zone which took place on Monday, 20th March 2023 at the Anse La Raye Primary School again culminated in a stalemate.
