Castries, Saint Lucia: Day #26 in the 2022 Northern Cluster Grassroots/ Ministry of Youth Development and Sports continued on Friday, August 26, with more enjoyable activities.
As per the camp schedule, the campers experienced their 2nd Sleep Over for this year’s cricket camp. The highlight of the night was a “Talent Show” put on by the campers. Out of a cast of 6 contestants, ten-year-old SHEBA JN PIERRE rocked the crowd with her sensational dancing talent.
She received a cash prize for her effort. The other contestants also had the group screaming with laughter and excitement as they put on their performances.
M.C Skyy Smith did a great job in hosting the show.

Preceding the talent show, the campers were divided into four groups who competed against each other in several activities including catching, target throwing and bowling at the stamps.
On Friday, August 26, the Grassroots campers presented to former Gros Islet cricketer/umpire/selector and administrator; TIMOTHY ‘ALECO’ DELFUS a donation of grocery items and cash. DELFUS, now in his early 80s was extremely grateful to the Grassroots campers for this timely contribution.

The Northern Cluster Grassroots/ Ministry of Youth Development and Sports 2022 Summer Cricket Camp (Day #12) took place on Monday, August 8, with “Cricket Match Day #1” at the Gros Islet Playing Field.
Two high-level matches were played among campers.
Game #1 among players 15 years and under together with a female under 19 players and Game #2 among under 19 male players together with senior players. In game #1, the teams were led by National Under 19 player KHAN ELCOCK and Windward Islands Under 19 Female player SKYY SMITH.
Elcock’s team batting first in a game reduced to 20 overs; a side made 145 for 4 in their allocated overs, with Isaiah Jones making 68 not out with 11 fours and 1 six and skipper Khan Elcock 55 with seven fours and four sixes.
