Religious groups serve admirably during pandemic: Slough MP Dhesi

UK: Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi, UK Labour Member of Parliament for Slough, made his parliament remarks that Churches, mosques, Hindu mandirs, Sikh gurdwaras, and other faith groups have served admirably during the pandemic.

Singh added, “Our community in unison, looking after the most vulnerable.”

He also noted that Slough is blessed with so many other amazing voluntary groups, which came under the One Slough initiative.

Singh further noted in the debate, “I thanked the minister, and I am glad that my Right Hon. friend, the member for East Ham was able to secure this debate on the response of faith groups to the COVID-19 outbreak.” 

Slough MP added,” In slough, while we had Slough Borough council, Slough council for voluntary service create an umbrella one Slough initiative to do so much for our community.” 

He is so impressed by the faith groups , Particularly Churches, Mosques, the Hindu temples, and Slough Sikh gurudwaras & other faith groups who delivered much-needed supplies to people’s homes. 

He further asked questions to the Minister that Does the Minister agree with me that just illustrate that faith groups can be so inspirational & once again, faith is a source for so much faith within our communities? 

Answering Dhesi’s question ruling minister also agreed with his points & said, “I completely endorse those comments, and I think the pandemic has given the opportunity to see just what good work these groups do & serving people of all faiths it is has been .” 

Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi also participated in the discussion discussing various rail projects within the region, including HS2 and the Midlands Engine, which was organized by Mids Connect.

He emphasized that it is very important to invest in rail infrastructure nationally to tackle the climate crisis, create jobs, level up our nation, and strengthen the economy.
