Castries, St Lucia: The 2022 Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Secondary School 40 Overs Under – 15 Cricket Tournament continued on Tuesday, June 21, with the penultimate day of group stage matches.
At the Mindoo Philip Park, St Mary’s College registered a comfortable 10-wicket victory over Ciceron Secondary. Ciceron Secondary, batting first, was dismissed for 55 in 23.3 overs, with Sherlon Daniel making 12 and Hayden James 11.
The wicket takers for St Mary’s College were Nekyll Alfred with 4 for 9 in 6.3 overs, Dante Eugene 3 for 5 in 5 overs, Sherkin Mc Ray 2 for 5 in 5 overs and one wicket to Tyler Venner.
In reply St Mary’s College easily got to their target, finishing on 56 without loss in 7.1 overs with Johnathan Daniel remaining on 34 not out.
RESULT: ST MARY’S COLLEGE DEFEATED CICERON SECONDARY BY 10 WICKETS.
At the Piaye Playing Field, Micoud Secondary completed a hard-fought 28-run victory over Soufriere Comprehensive. Micoud Secondary, batting first, was dismissed for 90 in 25.2 overs, with Liam Joseph making 26 not out.
The wicket takers for Soufriere Comprehensive were Jashawn Mitchel with 3 for 10 in 5.2 overs, Kellon Flavius 2 for 10 in 6 overs, Eleazer Cazaaubon 2 for 10 in 4 overs and 1 wicket each to Lashawn St Prix and Blessing Francis.
In reply, Soufriere Comprehensive was bowled out for 62 with no batsmen reaching double figures.
The wicket takers for Micoud Secondary were Seth Reneau, 5 for 16 in 6overs, Liam Joseph, 2 for 10 in 2 overs, Nathan Fitz, 2 for 14 in 2 overs and one wicket to Dante Fontenelle.
RESULT: MICOUD SECONDARY DEFEATED SOUFRIERE COMPREHENSIVE BY 28 RUNS.
The final group stage match of the tournament will be played on Wednesday, June 22, from 10:00 am between Leon Hess Comprehensive and Sir Ira Simmons Secondary at the Gros Islet Playing Field.
