Roseau, Dominica: On the occasion of Christmas 2022, various leaders of the Commonwealth of Dominica, along with Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, dropped exciting wishes to the people on Sunday, December 25, 2022.
Firstly, the wish came from Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, who extended blessings and wished the people with a heartfelt note. He stated, “On behalf of the Government of Dominica and from my family to yours, Merry Christmas.”
While extending wishes for Christmas and New year, he added, “May your Christmas be filled with love and joy and may the New year bring blessings and prosperity.”
Melissa Poponne Skerrit- Parliamentary Representative for Roseau Central Constituency, also expressed pleasure on the eve and said Merry Christmas from her family to the people.
While pouring wishes on occasion and giving a blessing for a peaceful holiday season, Dr Irving McIntyre asserted that Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. He wished may the spirit of Christmas infuse the life of people and that of their families with hope, positivity and joy.
The wishes also came from Parliamentary Representative from Grand Bay Constituency- Dr Vince Henderson.
Vince Henderson cited, “May the Sparkle and Joy of Christmas fill your heart. I wish you a season filled with happiness, love and a prosperous 2023.”
Further, Agriculture Minister and Parliamentary Representative for the Cottage constituency- Roland Royer, joined other leaders to extend wishes on Christmas eve. He added, “Wishing you a very Merry Christmas.”
While extending a blessing, he said, “May your Christmas sparkle with moments of love, laughter, peace and goodwill. Wishing you a new year full of contentment and joy. Have a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.”
The wishes also came from Parliamentary Representative for the Mahaut Constituency- Cassinni Laville, and said Merry Christmas.
He wished, “May the spirit of Christmas be with you and let your heart fill with joy.”
Parliamentary Representative from Portsmouth Constituency- Fenella Wenham extended Christmas greetings with heartfelt notes. She said,”We celebrate the gift of Jesus Christ, and the Lord, who is the saviour of the world. As your newly elected Parliamentary Representative for the Portsmouth Constituency, I wish first to extend a blessed, peaceful, and spirit-filled Christmas to all as we celebrate the birth of the One sent to redeem mankind; Emmanuel, the Lord is with us. ”
She stated that throughout this season, she also urged the people to share gifts of love, peace, kindness, cheer, unity, and generosity with others who, during this time of celebration, may be experiencing some form of discomfort.
Wenham added that they all love to receive presents all creatively and beautifully wrapped with a Christmas bow but God gave the people that special present that brings joy to their hearts and enlightenment to their minds. It is a gift that keeps on giving if our spirits can receive it and if their hearts can believe. This special gift has no end.
“On behalf of my family and the Dominica Labour party-led administration I represent, I pray that the circles of our love and your love extend to everyone just like the ripples in the water, “she added.
Parliamentary Representative for Soufriere constituency- Denise Charles also extended wishes on Christmas.
