Roseau, Dominica: On the special occasion of Christmas 2022, the Commonwealth of Dominica celebrated the festival with entertaining activities and fun events in the different constituencies in December. The activities have filled the entire country with a level of excitement and interesting vibes. 

The events featured numerous activities such as Christmas parties, Carlos, and village events for the citizens, especially for the Children. Parliamentary Representatives for the different constituencies hosted these events to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and created festival vibes across Dominica.

Along with that, on Christmas eve, leaders of Dominica, such as Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, Melissa Skerrit, Denise Charles, Roland Royer, Dr Irving McnItrye, Vince Henderson, Fanella Wenham, and Cassanni Laville, poured the wishes and blessings of the festival to the citizens of the country. 

With warm wordings and heartfelt messages, the leaders have dropped Christmas blessings for the citizens of the country. Along with that, various people across the country have celebrated the festival and stepped out of their houses o join the different parties. 

Dominica witnessed the staging of such big events after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The celebration brings a feeling of togetherness and a sense of unity among the people of the country. The country featured numerous activities and fun events for Christmas, which are as follows: 

Firstly, Melissa Skerrit- Parliamentary Representative for Roseau Central Constituency, also opened the Santa’s Mall and hosted the Roseau Christmas Parade. The Santa’s Mall featured numerous activities and fun events, which opened huge opportunities for the local vendors to interact with the audience.  

She asked the people to come to follow Santa and his helpers on parade to Santa’s Mall tomorrow night. The countdown to Christmas has begun! Dj Entertainment, goodies and more. 

 Melissa Skerrit also hosted the Roseau Christmas Parade, where people witnessed the arrival of Santa and his helpers. She asked the people to come on down to Roseau and bring their little ones and friends and family! Come see Santa and his helpers at The Roseau Christmas Parade.

Besides this, she also hosted the Children’s Christmas Party and organized fun events and exciting games for the children of the Roseau Central constituency.  

Parliamentary Representatives for Cottage constituency- Roland Royer hosted Children’s Christmas Party, and the children of the Cottage Constituency turned out in large numbers on December 18, 2022, at the Cabrits National Park for the Annual Children’s Christmas Party.

They experienced the joy of Christmas by receiving gifts, participating in fun games, face painting and more in an environment of love and unity.

Further, Denise Charles- Parliamentary Representative for Soufriere constituency, also organized the Christmas Village event. She added that the laughter, cheers, and fun are some words to describe the Christmas Event in which over 450 Children received a gift. 

Denise Charles extended special Thanks to the organizing team: Petra, Erica, the LYO, Fall Forward group, Nadia, Joyette, David, Queen Mary, Jeff, Peter, Pointe Michel Village Council, and all the other caterers who truly made the day remarkable. Despite the minor challenge at the end, it was truly a spectacular day.

Fanella Wehnem- Parliamentary Representative for the Portsmouth constituency, also joined other leaders to host the different parties. She hosted the Children’s Christmas Party at Benjamin Park Stadium on December 25, 2022. She asked the people to bring their children for some holiday cheer to celebrate this special time of the year.  

Dr Vince Henderson- Parliamentary Representative for Grand Bay constituency, also hosted the Christmas Party and stated that Christmas Cheer Recipe — Combines loads of good wishes, a heart full of love, and armfuls of hugs sprinkled with laughter. Top off with presents. Serves everyone. 

Dr Irving McIntrye- Parliamentary Representative for Roseau Velley also oragnsied the lovely night of fun, sharing and togetherness at the RVC.

Dominica is the home to natural beauty, the world’s second boiling lake and 365 rivers and many more. The nature isle of the Caribbean attracted visitors from across the globe and the festival season also provides the chance for the country to boost the tourism industry. So, the country has emerged as the ideal location for celebrating festivals.
