Prime Minister Terrance Drew marks his presence on wreath laying ceremony

St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Terrance Drew connects with Macro Guzman Adrian, Charge d’ Affairs Ad Hoc of the Embassy of Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for a wreath laying ceremony at National Heroes Park on October 31, 2023.

Along with Macro Guzman Adrian, many other Cabinet members, senior government officials and Ambassadors were also present. 

The objective of the ceremony was to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Venezuela and St Kitts and Nevis.

In this ceremony, wreaths are placed at the feet of statues of the national heroes that are late right excellent sir Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw, late right excellent sir C.A. Paul Southwell, late right excellent sir Joseph N. France, late right excellent sir Simeon Daniel. 

Notably, the homage was paid to living national hero as well. He is right excellent sir Kennedy A. Simmonds.

While addressing the ceremony, the Prime Minister added that this ceremony is a set example of a cherished relationship between the countries that has blossomed over four decades which is not the short period.

He even highlighted that whenever the occasion is reflected, it deeply connects with the remarkable history of the bond of two countries that remains strong and durable.

Moreover, Venezuela has been the first country to set up an embassy with a resident ambassador in St Kitts and Nevis.

The relationships between the countries serve as the commitment of friendship and Venezuela’s dedication for the long stay of friendship between two countries.

The Prime Minister even said that the country is so grateful for the 40 years of friendly connections for the overall growth.

The journey of 40 years has a wonderful memory of the distribution of coloring books to the primary schools which was done back in 1983.

The book received in this distributing ceremony was one which is focused on the history, culture of the country Venezuela.
