President of Guyana Ali meets Prime Minister of UAE Maktoum
Guyana: President Mohammad Irfaan Ali met with Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Thursday, March 25, 2022. President Ali is on his official visit to Dubai and United Arab Emirates.
The two counterparts have held a discussion on various areas. They have discussed various areas of cooperation to strengthen the diplomatic ties between the two countries.
President Irfaan Ali is in Dubai for the just-concluded Caribbean Investment Forum (CIF2022) and the ongoing Global Business Forum-LATAM.
Earlier on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, Dr Irfaan Ali also joined UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi for a panel discussion at the Global Business Forum- LATAM in Dubai.
The discussion, intended to deepen relations between countries in the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean, was hosted by Retired Emerging Markets Editor/Anchor of the CNN John Defterio.
On Tuesday, March 22, 2022, Dr Irfaan Ali said that the Caribbean Region is a stable platform with all of the components for a modern and emerging economy.
The Head of State made this assertion during his keynote address today, at the Caribbean Investment Forum (CIF2022), hosted by the Caribbean Export Development Agency, in association with the Caribbean Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (CAIPA) in Dubai.
President Ali highlighted the Region’s economic potential and spoke extensively about opportunities in environmental services, the blue economy, agriculture, infrastructure, tourism and other areas of potential and predicted growth.
“Once you have the capital, the foresight, access to technology, then the Caribbean Region is a destination you should be looking at. It is a destination that offers you an opportunity to build a complex, multifaceted investment platform. And it’s a Region that is looking at being self-sufficient in many areas,” underscored President Ali.
President also delivered the keynote address to the opening of the Caribbean Investment Forum (CIF2022) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Tuesday. President Ali is also expected to participate in the Global Business Forum LATAM, which begins today.
The Head of State is accompanied by the Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, Deodat Indar; CEO of GO-Invest, Dr Peter Ramsaroop and Director of Projects in the Office of the President, Marcia Nadir-Sharma, among other officials.
