Guyana: President Dr Irfaan Ali met with Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, at Clarance House, Royal Residence, during his official visit to London on Friday, April 28, 2022. Prince Charles is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II.

President Ali was accompanied by the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, the Honourable Oneidge Walrond.

President Irfaan Ali held an interactive session today with Guyanese living in the United Kingdom.

The Head of State was joined by the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, the Honourable Oneidge Walrond and Legendary West Indies cricket captain Sir Clive Lloyd at the head table.

The event, which was organised by the Guyana High Commission in the UK, was held at the Royal Horseguards Hotel in London.

President Dr Irfaan Ali met with the Chief Executive Officer of the Guyana Telephone & Telegraph Company Ltd (GTT), Damian Blackburn, and the Chief Operations Officer of GTT Business Solutions, Orson Ferguson.

The meetings took place today, on day three of the President’s visit to London, where he attended the Guyana Investment Seminar and the Caribbean Council’s House of Lords annual reception.

GTT is one of the corporate sponsors of the event held by the Caribbean Council.

The Head of State was accompanied by the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, e Oneidge Walrond and the Director of Projects Office of the President, Marcia Nadir-Sharma.

Earlier, on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, President Irfaan also met with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson and held a discussion on matters relating to Guyana’s agriculture agenda, the country’s energy potential and Prime Minister Johnson’s Coalition of Forest Alliance Initiative.

The Guyanese Head of State was joined by the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce,  Oneidge Walrond and the Director of Projects at the Office of the President, Mrs Marcia Nadir-Sharma.

UK High Commissioner to Guyana, Jane Miller OBE was also at the engagement.
