President Irfaan Ali held interactive session with Guyanese living in United Kingdom

On the same day, President Dr Irfaan Ali also met His Royal Highness, Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, at Clarance House, Royal Residence today in London. Prince Charles is the heir apparent to the British throne, and he is the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II.

Guyana: President Dr Irfaan Ali held an interactive session with Guyanese living in the United Kingdom on Thursday, April 28, 2022. 

The Head of State was joined by the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, the Honourable Oneidge Walrond and Legendary West Indies cricket captain Sir Clive Lloyd at the head table.

The event, which was organised by the Guyana High Commission in the UK, was held at the Royal Horseguards Hotel in London.

President Ali was accompanied by the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, the Honourable Oneidge Walrond.

President Dr Irfaan Ali met with the Chief Executive Officer of the Guyana Telephone & Telegraph Company Ltd (GTT), Damian Blackburn, and the Chief Operations Officer of GTT Business Solutions, Orson Ferguson.

The meetings took place today, on day three of the President’s visit to London, where he attended the Guyana Investment Seminar and the Caribbean Council’s House of Lords annual reception.

GTT is one of the corporate sponsors of the event held by the Caribbean Council.

The Head of State was accompanied by the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, the Honourable Oneidge Walrond and the Director of Projects Office of the President, Marcia Nadir-Sharma.

 President Dr Irfaan Ali, also held discussions with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson on matters relating to Guyana’s agriculture agenda, the country’s energy potential and Prime Minister Johnson’s Coalition of Forest Alliance Initiative earlier on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. 

President Ali and his delegation are in England to participate in the Caribbean Council’s House of Lords annual reception, to be held today. Since his arrival in London, the President has led the Guyana Investment Seminar and has engaged with investors at an investment roundtable.
