Premier Mark Brantley extends gratitude to volunteers for helping him in back-to-school programme

Premier of Nevis and Leader of Concerned Citizens Movement- Mark Brantley extended warm gratitude to the people who voluntarily joined the preparation of the back-to-school backpack and limited supplies for primary school students.

Nevis: Premier of Nevis and Leader of Concerned Citizens Movement- Mark Brantley extended warm gratitude to the people who voluntarily joined the preparation of the back-to-school backpack and limited supplies for primary school students. 

Due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, schools were shut down in order to combat the flow of the infection from one person to another. But now, the pandemic has started showing improvement, and the government announced the resumption of primary schools. 

He expressed pleasure in the resumption of the Believe In Yourself backpack programme. He added that this is a small way of awaiting parents at this time of year. 

Through his social media, Premier Mark Brantley stated, “Huge thank you to the volunteers who came out to help me prepare the back-to-school backpack and limited supplies for primary school students in my constituency. I am delighted to resume the BElieveInYOUrself backpack programme after a hiatus due to Covid. Just my small way of awaiting parents at this time of year.” 

Earlier, on August 13, 2022, he announced the reintroduction of the Believe in Yourself backpack programme for all primary school children in constituency 9 of Nevis. Mark Brantley is a member of the parliament from constituency 9. 

At that announcement, he also declared that this time students would also get some back school supplies during the opening of the schools. He added due to the hiatus of the COVID-19 pandemic for about two years; now students will be able to go to school and expose themselves to an environment where the study will be exciting. 

He added, “I always try to give back to my constituency and am delighted that after a hiatus due to Covid, I can reintroduce my BElieveInYOUrself backpack programme for ALL primary school children in Nevis 9. This time the backpacks will have some basic school supplies too. I expect to distribute well before school reopens. Thanks be to God.”Â
