Premier Mark Brantley congratulates Charlestown School for winning Relay Championship

Premier of Nevis and Leader of Concerned Citizens Movement Mark Brantley extended warm greetings to Charlestown Primary School for securing an incredible victory in the first ever Ram's Primary School Relay Championship

Nevis: Premier of Nevis and Leader of Concerned Citizens Movement Mark Brantley extended warm greetings to Charlestown Primary School for securing an incredible victory in the first ever Ram’s Primary School Relay Championship. 

On Sunday afternoon (May 15, 2022), Premier Mark Brantley attended the sports competition at the Ram Primary School, where various other schools of St Kitts and Nevis have participated. 

The championship consisted of relay races in which students had to participate and perform well. The maximum count of the securing medal had decided the result of the championship, which made the Charlestown Primary School winners as they have attained maximum numbers of medals. 

Charlestown Primary School have won the championship by securing a total of 13 medals in the entire game. Of the total 13 medals, six medals were gold, four were silver, and there was bronze. 

Hailing the school, the Leader of CCM noted that the school have done an incredible job and that most of the appreciation should be given to their teachers, parents, and coaches who have supported and trained them to achieve the victory. 

Premier Brantley stated, “Charlestown Primary School CHAMPIONS AGAIN!!! Congratulations to the student-athletes, their teachers, parents, coaches and the legions of fans who supported CPS and the other schools from Nevis.”

Lauding the athletes of Charlestown Primary School, Mark Brantley expressed that they were true champions as they have dominated the entire game with their spectacular performance. 

“Charlestown Primary, you are truly a special school dominating athletics not only locally but nationally as well. Heartiest congratulations!!! You have made Nevis proud,” underlined Premier Brantley. 

Condemning the spirit of the people of the Nevis, Premier Brantley emphasized, “Nevis, we might be small, but we tallawah.”

Meanwhile, Premier Brantley also extended warm wishes and blessing to the other schools and students who have participated in the championship. 

He affirmed, “I also congratulate the other schools that participated, including my alma mater Ivor Walters Primary, St Thomas Primary and the Joycelyn Liburd Primary!! Well done to all! You have made us proud.”

Besides this, Former Deputy Prime Minister and Leader of People’s Action Movement Shawn K Richards also attended the championship and encouraged the participants

Along with him, Junior Minister of Education in Nevis Troy Liburd also showed his presence. 

Shawn Richards asserted, “Supporting our athletes at the Primary Schools Relay Championships with Hon. Troy Liburd, Junior Minister of Education in Nevis.”

Moreover, Denzil Douglas, leader of St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party, also hailed the championship and students while adding, “Congratulations to the Charlestown Primary School for winning the first ever Ram’s Primary School Relay Championship, which was held this (Sunday) afternoon.”
