And the GREAT news continues for Nevisians. Please help me congratulate my former Hanley’s Road neighbour Mrs Nelta Thomas on being named Manager of the Year at the prestigious Four Seasons Resort, Nevis.

Nelta joined the Four Seasons Resort Nevis team in November 1991 after completing a two-year Diploma in Tourism Reception and Sales at the Barbados Community College.

She has been with the company for the last 30 years and has served in various roles in the Conference Services Department to include Administrative Assistant from 1991 to 1994, Conference Coordinator from 1994 to 1998, Conference Manager from 1998 to 2014 and as Director of Conference Services from October 2014 to present.

Nelta Thomas

As a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Conference Services Department was reduced from a team of five to one, hence, Nelta became the sole member of the department for 18 months and fulfilled all roles and responsibilities. These included hosting site inspections, planning and execution of corporate incentive trips, weddings, and social events. During this time, she also assisted in other areas of the resort as necessary, from retail inventory to restaurant hostess.

She is well respected and appreciated by her clients and colleagues and exemplifies the true meaning of adaptability, diligence, commitment. She is the consummate team player.

She has continued to exemplify grace under pressure, commitment and dedication to her craft to Four Seasons and to her beloved Nevis. Loving what you do definitely resonates with her!

No one deserves the award of Manager of the Year more than Nelta.

Proud of you Nelta!! Keep pushing!

Kendie has been the senior F&B Bar Supervisor at Four Seasons for the past two years. With her passion for creating amazing cocktails and great guest interaction skills, she also holds the acknowledgement of being the Hotel Mixologist.

Her countless hours of rum tasting classes with hotel guests have educated them while also leaving them astonished with her wealth of knowledge and teaching techniques.

Kendie attended Gingerland Secondary school, and in 2005, she joined the Four Seasons Resort Nevis in the capacity of Restaurant Server and was later hired as a bartender.

Her passion for the bar was obvious. Over the years, she won numerous awards for her creations, such as: 2014 Hotel bartender of the year, Patrons best tasting Margarita-Nevisian Sunshine, Angostura Mixmaster for three consecutive years, and was once named one of the “Most Interesting Persons in Rum”, according to The Caribbean Journal. One of her latest creations, ‘The Kandie’s Kick’, which is the hotel’s signature cocktail, is making its way through the glasses to guests’ hearts.

Kendie Williams

At Mango Restaurant, where she Masters her craft, it is further evident in the Cocktail list, that boasts 100% of her remarkable and inspiring creations.

Kendie utilizes local herbs and spirits to tantalise guests’ taste buds while dazzling their eyes with the most creative and beautiful garnishes to accompany her beverages.

When Kendie is not in the bar serving delicious cocktails to guests, you will find her spending a lot of time with her family, two children and a loving husband.

Ladies and gentlemen help me applaud the Four Seasons Resort Nevis Employee of the Year 2021, Front of House Mrs Kendie Williams.
