Postal Services in St Kitts and Nevis to be digitalized by 2021

In the digital era of this new world, St Kitts and Nevis government have taken a significant to digitalized the postal system in St. Kitts and Nevis in the year 2021 to improve services.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Infrastructure, Postal., Shawn Richards, stated that Postal Services play an essential role in connecting people, businesses, and governments globally, by taken step would boost the country communication.

Hon. Shawn Richards said, “We are looking at the digitization of the Postal Services for a customer utilizing the services offered by the various post offices throughout St. Kitts and Nevis .”

He added, “We intend to digitize it to the extent that persons can get receipts digitally and basically, all sections of the post offices would be done digitally.”

At present most of the works of Postal services are done manually. However, in 2021, the aim is to ensure that the ease of doing business is facilitated.

Dy PM pointed out that “During the course of 2021, we hope to change.”

 

He also informed that the government has already identified software developer right here within the region that would be commissioned at the country’s post offices.

As in this pandemic time, it was quite tricky for the postmen to reach home, and it was hard for them sometimes, as some addresses are in dangerous places.

So this step has been seemed to be the mild stone in the postal world.

“That would make the service far more efficient, not only for the post office customers but also for the hardworking team of the post office,” Dy PM said.

On this step, The Postal Services said: “We are committed to the provision of consistently high quality of affordable postal goods and services to satisfy the varied demands of our valued customers efficiently and professionally.”
