St Kitts and Nevis: General Elections in St Kitts and Nevis will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022. The much-awaited election date was announced by Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris at his people’s labour Party Rally.
The rally was held on Sunday, July 17, in Tabernacle Village, where Dr Harris hails from. The nomination day for the election will be Tuesday, July 26, 2022.
During his address at the PLP rally, Prime Minister Timothy Harris asserted that he had informed Governor-General Sir S.W. Tapley Seaton last week. He gives every information about the recent developments with respect to the Constitutional prerogative of holding a General Elections 90 days after the abolition of Parliament.
Further, various political parties, such as the People’s Labour Party (PLP), led by Prime Minister Timothy Harris. the People’s Action Movement (PAM) led by Shawn K Richards, St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP), led by Dr Terrance Drew, the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) led by Premier Mark Brantley and the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) led by Dr Janice Daniel-Hodge will conduct the general elections.
While addressing the Rally, PM Harris noted, “We want to ensure that in our next term, we truly represent everybody. We will be a broad-based inclusive government in which Douglas, Labour people, and PAM can truly come and work and find love and support as they help us build the government.”
He further stressed that the poverty of our circumstances must never cruse as they can rise to higher heights.
Dr Harris declared that he wanted to say since May 10, when that fire delayed the people, fire doors save a fire for those who are undermined, and so many good things have been happening.
Stressing upon the successful campaign of PLP, Prime Minister Harris added,” It is love that will be our winning message as we go house to house knocking doors and persuading the public to vote for the People’s Labour Party so that we can return to government with a historic victory, on eight seats”.
He further asserted that PLP is the only part which emerged as the real protector of the people of St Kitts and Nevis as they are the only ones who have addressed the issues of the people by creating jobs and uplifting the economy.
“We are the people’s champions; we will continue to work for the people because, for us, the honour of representation and the privilege of serving as the minister is one that we never take lightly,” underscored PM Harris.
He further asked the people to vote for PLP and make them win the general elections. Dr Harris asserted, “Give me all eight seats; I need all eight seats to ensure a strong government; I need all eight seats so that we don’t go into another collision that forces us back again into premature elections.”
PM Harris added to vote for PLP in number one, number two, number three, number four, number five, number six, number seven, number eight. He stressed,”As a leader of the part, I have to go everywhere to ensure that we bring in all eight seats.”
While showing his support to the people, PM Harris Harris underlined that he would never abandon the people of St Kitts and Nevis because they live in his heart.
