St Kitts and Nevis: Secretary General of CARICOM Dr Carla Barnett met the Cabinet of Ministers of St. Kitts and Nevis chaired by Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew on Monday, October 31, 2022.
During the meeting, she talked about various matters of concern and briefed on the work of the Community, including Human Resources Development, Health and HIV.
The work on the Community was led by the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis- Dr Terrance Drew, in the CARICOM Quasi-Cabinet.
The Secretary-General also met with the recently appointed CARICOM Youth Ambassadors from St. Kitts and Nevis, Jalen Monzac and Iana Franks.
Further, the Secretary-General took to social media and drooped a series of photos with PM Terrance Drew and his cabinet. She captioned the photo, “I was pleased to brief the new Cabinet of Ministers in St Kitts and Nevis today on the work of the Community, including Human Resources Development, Health and HIV on which Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew leads in the CARICOM Quasi-Cabinet.”
During the interactions, she heard their plans for the upliftment of various sectors, such as youth agriculture, regional transportation and mental health.
Dr Terrance Drew assumed their position in the office of the prime minister on August 5, 2022, after winning general elections with a majority of eight seats. After that, he took the role in the CARICOM Quasi Cabinet of lead-head with responsibility for issues related to Human Resource Development, Health and HIV/AIDS.
Further, the Secretary-General of CARICOM has expressed her desire to discuss various CARICOM affairs with Prime Minister Drew and his Cabinet.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew has been working tirelessly for the overall development of St Kitts and Nevis. Various initiatives have been taken by the labour party-led government, such as the removal of COVID-19 restrictions formation of a committee to combat corruption.
