St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew welcomed Ahmed Agil Al-Khateeb, Minister of Tourism for Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) in St Kitts and Nevis on Thursday.
PM Terrance Drew took to Facebook and shared glimpses of the meeting. Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis- Dr Geoffrey Hanley, Denzil Douglas- Minister of Foreign Affairs, Konris Maynard; Minister of Public Infrastructure, Energy and Utilities, Samal Duggins; Minister of Agriculture Dr Joyelle Clarke; Minister of Sustainable Development Mark Brantley, Premier of Nevis Naeemah Hazelle, Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office; and Samuel Berridge, Senior Assistant Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office were present at the meeting.
The meeting featured a discussion on several matters of concern such as agriculture, sustainability, tourism, culture and infrastructure development. The Saudi Arabia delegation included Saja Alhoshan, Chief of Staff; Sultan Almusallam, Deputy Minister of Tourism for International Affairs; Faisal Alkahtani, Deputy CEO of Saudi Fund for Development; Mohammed Alshenqiti, Portfolio Manage/EXPO 2030 tea; Yazeed Almutairi, Director of Protocol; Abdulelah Allafi, Director of Logistics; and Meshari Almuhanna, Photographer.
Tourism Minister Al-Khateeb has been working in investment and financial services for more than 25 years. He established, managed and restructured several governmental agencies and companies. With his innovative plans and ability, Al-Khateeb has worked efficiently in the institutional transformation and achieved future visions efficiently and effectively.
The meeting marked a significant step in establishing strong diplomatic relations between St Kitts and Nevis and Saudi Arabia. PM Terrance Drew and Tourism Minister Al-Khateeb shared dialogues on the matters and ways to strengthen their bilateral cooperation on trade and business.
During the meeting, Tourism Minister discussed various prospects for investments and his desire to strengthen diplomatic relations. PM Terrance Drew stated,” I outlined Saint Kitts and Nevis’ vision for becoming a sustainable island state and the need to build resilience in the various sectors, particularly energy and health.”
