St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew met with the St Kitts National Under 15 and 17 football teams at the new football field in St. Peter’s on Saturday. He also toured St Kitts and Nevis Football Association(SKNFA) Technical Center in St. Peters along with SKNFA President Atiba Harris.

PM Dr Terrance Drew also viewed the building and the newly-laid artificial turf on the field; the Prime Minister took a timeout to speak to the members of the National Under 15 and 17 football teams who were in training.

In his official statement, PM Drew cited, “This morning I met with the St Kitts National Under 15 and 17 Football teams at the new football field in St. Peter’s. I shared a few words of encouragement and commendation with the team and spent a bit of time showcasing my talents. I bet you didn’t know I had a little skill.” 

During his meeting, he also encouraged the team and played with them to showcase his talents. He extended best wishes to the team with the words, “Keep up the great work.”  

Besides this, PM Terrance Drew also spoke of the past glories of St Kitts and Nevis Senior Men’s National Team and the progress they have made so far under the new SKNFA administration. 

He encouraged the players to do their best and strive to improve their skills, which will open new opportunities for them in the sport. The players, in return, expressed thanks to Prime Minister Drew for taking the time to speak to them and assured him they were inspired by his speech. 

However, before speaking to the players, the prime minister took some penalty kicks on the field, of which he scored two. 

St Kitts and Nevis Football Association continue its mandate in developing football in the country and ensuring our national teams are adequately prepared for international competitions. The technical director of SKNFA updates the public on the development of the U 14 and U 17 teams, which are training regularly at the SKNFA Technical Center in St. Peters.

Along with that, Deputy PM of St Kitts and Nevis- Geoffrey Hanley, also joined PM Drew in his tour of the site. He also shared the post of PM Dr Terrace Drew on his social media account and appreciated his work.
