PM Terrance Drew led delegation to attend 77th United Nations General Assembly in New York

The session of the UNGA held under the common theme is the need for more developed nations to take greater responsibility for climate action and also in the promotion of peace through diplomacy and dialogue instead of various challenges.

St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew and his contingent are all set to sit at the 77th General Debate of the United Nations General Assembly, which began in New York. While representing St Kitts and Nevis, he will address the General Assembly on Friday, September 23, 2022. 

The session of the UNGA held under the common theme is the need for more developed nations to take greater responsibility for climate action and also in the promotion of peace through diplomacy and dialogue instead of various challenges.

In particular, the session will be featured a discussion on the large-scale infrastructure projects in renewable energy and the tools and solutions to access financial capital, green investments, and public-private partnerships.

Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew emerged as a people’s leader and is dedicated to solving their problems and improving their well-being. After being sworn in as St Kitts and Nevis’ prime minister on August 6, 2022, he and his administration have signed off on and delivered a number of measures and policies that significantly impact the lives of Kittitians and Nevisians. 

In just one month, several significant decisions have been enforced by Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew. He announced financial assistance for any child in need of medical assistance overseas, free tuition at Clearance Fitzroy Bryant College, and assistance for a family of Armed officers who die in the line of duty. 

Along with this, the country experienced an expansion in the health sector under his leadership. The government also sourced the MRI Machine for JNF Hospital in the country. Now, Dr Drew eyes to provide exemplary educational facilities to the students of the twin-island Federation. 

August 5 witnessed the 2022 general elections resulting in a massive victory for St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party, not only in the number of seats captured but also in the overwhelming win of the district boxes in each constituency across St Kitts.

In the 77th session of UNGA, Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew will be accompanied by Dr Denzil Douglas, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Konris Maynard, Minister of Public Infrastructure, ICT; Dr Joyelle Clarke, Minister of Sustainable Development; Nerys Dockery, UN Ambassador-designate; Naeemah Hazelle, Permanent Secretary, Office of the Prime Minister; Samuel Berridge, Senior Assistant Secretary, Regional Integration and Diaspora Unit, Office of Prime Minister; Gurdip Dev Bath, Special representative and advisor to Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew and Dillon Edmeade, Aide to the Prime Minister. Apart from this, Cabinet Ministers Samal and Duggins, and Marsha Henderson are also in New York.
