St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew hosted the “New Year’s Gala 2023- New Beginnings” on January 7, 2023, at St Kitts Marriot Grand Ballon. The theme of the gala was Black Tie and Red Carpet and started at 7: 00 pm.
PM Terrance Drew dropped glimpses of the New Year Gala on his Facebook Page and described it as an unforgettable event. Various ministers such as Foreign Minister- Denzil Douglas, Tourism Minister Marsha Henderson, Deputy Prime Minister- Geoffrey Hanely, Minister of Creative Economy- Samal Duggins and Premier of Nevis- Mark Brantley attended the event.
Ambassador Elizabeth Thompson also attended the gala and addressed the audience.
It was Drew’s first new year Gala as the prime minister of St Kitts and Nevis, and he cited, “About last night…Prime Minister’s New Year’s Gala 2023. My first as Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis. It was an unforgettable event…New Beginnings.”
While hailing Ambassador Elizabeth Thompson, PM Terrance Drew added that she is brilliant. She captivated the audience with her humour and intellect as she challenged them, the Caribbean people, to get involved and leverage their gifts to move the Caribbean into a new space of global leadership.
He further appreciated the performances and said that the performances were outstanding. He admired the talent of the local artists, Rucas, Dejour, MiMi Armstrong, Brotherhood Drummers, and Jynsis Band. They kept them all rocking and engaged all night.

The Prime Minister’s New Year’s Gala 2023 was a successful event. He wished to express special thanks and appreciation to everyone who attended and to the Gala Committee, who worked tirelessly around the clock to make the event a success.
Foreign Minister- Denzil Douglas also shared glimpses of the event and stated,” Sunday Blessings, Everyone. There’s always something to be Thankful for 2023, Signature PM Gala.”
Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis- Geoffrey Hanley, also attended the event and noted, “I always admire how beautiful my wife Adaeze Hanley is, especially when captured on camera. Cheers to all for a prosperous New Year and the BRIGHT hope that comes with new beginnings.”
He added that it was a night of fun, entertainment, good food, and great people, but also education as our Guest speaker Elizabeth Thompson penetrated our minds with her thoughts. The night ended on a high note as the Prime Minister invited us all to dance.
Geoffrey Hanley cited, “Families are like branches on a tree, we grow in different directions, yet our roots remain as one”. Celebrating together at the 2023 Prime Minister’s New Year’s Gala under the theme “New Beginnings.”
Samal Duggins shared glimpses of the gala and stated that the Prime Minister’s New Year’s Gala was nothing short of magical. Beautiful people in a beautiful setting made for a beautiful experience. Particularly the reminder by our guest speaker, Ambassador Thompson, and our entertainers, both homegrown and regional, of how talented and resilient we are as a people.
He said, “It is indeed our time. On a lighter note, I even danced a little (thanks to our Prime Minister, who put me on the spot). Ready for new beginnings in 2023. Enjoying the Prime Minister’s New Year’s Gala with this beauty.”
Premier Mark Brantley also attended the event and expressed pleasure. He said,” Llewellyn Sunshine Caines is the real bridge between St. Kitts and Nevis. Manners and respect my brother.
