St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis- Dr Terrance Drew expressed his emotions about the devastating fire at the Four Seasons Resort in Nevis. He extended his full support and solidarity to the people and authorities of the hotels.
He said that the resort has always remained a source of pride and income for the country. People across the world visit the country, aiming to stay at the hotel to spend their vacations in true tranquillity.
PM Drew further expressed his profound sadness and said that he is in direct and regular contact with Premier Mark Brantley and the Nevis administration.
“I wanted to take a moment to express my profound emotions about the devastating fire at the Four Seasons Resort in Nevis. This iconic establishment has always been a source of pride and beauty in our beloved Caribbean, and the news of this fire has left us all deeply saddened,”said the prime minister.
Earlier, he also spoke with the Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley, and Mr. Billy Cueto, the General Manager of Four Seasons, and extended the full support and solidarity of the People and Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
“I am relieved to inform you that there has been no loss of life in this incident, and for that, we can be grateful. The safety and well-being of the people at the resort are most important, and I am heartened to hear that everyone is safe, ”said the prime minister.
In his conversation with Cueto, he displayed the resilience that the Four Seasons Resort is known for. He also assured PM Terrance Drew that they will rebound and continue to be a beacon of luxury and hospitality in Nevis. Thankfully it was only a section of the resort that was damaged.
He wanted to personally thank the firefighters, first responders, and all those who worked tirelessly to contain the fire and ensure the safety of everyone at the resort. He said that their dedication is commendable, and we are grateful for your service.
“I will be traveling to Nevis later today to witness firsthand the extent of the damage and to stand with the people of Nevis during this challenging time,”said the prime minister.
