St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis- Dr Terrance Drew, extended greetings to James Sutton for his appointment as the new Commissioner of Police (COP). The Installation Ceremony was held on Thursday.

PM Terrance Drew took to social media and wrote a congratulatory note for the newly appointed commissioner. He cited, “Congratulations are in order for the new Commissioner of Police (COP) James Sutton.” 

While hailing Sutton, PM Drew added that James Whitinton Sutton had dedicated his life to the service of his country and people.

PM Terrance Drew said that James Sutton always worked for the welfare of the police department and prioritized strengthening it. While playing his duty with full dignity and integrity, he remains loyal to his duty. 

“I extend heartfelt congratulation to COP Sutton on his elevation to leadership of the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force. Moral and personal integrity are the necessary pillars needed across the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, “said the prime minister.

He added that police reform has become necessary nowadays yet a challenging task. The policies beneficial to both the public at large and the officials of the Force who worked day and night for the safety and security of the citizens of St Kitts and Nevis are necessary to be implemented. 

Moving on the path, PM Terrance Drew added that the government of St Kitts and Nevis has worked to increase the budget for the Ministry of National Security so that the policies and plans must be formulated to manage better the reduction of criminal activities across St Kitts and Nevis. 

While lauding the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force, PM Terrance Drew cited that the police force worked day and night to effectively respond to the crime resulting in the apprehension of suspects within minutes after the incident. The efforts of the government of St Kitts and Nevis were seen getting fruitful and enhancing the safety and security across the country and the reduce the fear of crime among the citizens. 

He commended the officers for their quick response and stated that their efforts had secured the country. This is due to the police officials there is the immediate arrest of perpetrators of these criminal acts. 

PM Terrance Drew appealed to the citizens to move forward from a lifestyle of crime and grab the opportunities brought out by the government of St Kitts and Nevis for them. He added, “Make good use of the opportunities and reform your life. 

He stated that he looked forward to collaborating with James Sutton in his new role as Commissioner of Police. While showing faith, PM Drew mentioned that he believes that Sutton will work to strengthen the department and work to provide the required training to officers.
