St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew attended the Social Security 45th Anniversary Church Service at the Zio Moravian Church on Sunday, February 5, 2023.
He expressed pleasure and appreciated the Social Security Board of St Kitts and Nevis for their commendable service. PM Terrance Drew also extended gratitude to the staff for giving 45 years to the Board.
PM Drew took to Facebook and shared the snapshots of the Church while lauding the Board. He cited, “This morning, I attended the Social Security 45th Anniversary Church Service at the Zion Moravian Church. It was a pleasure working with the various members of the Board and staff, giving thanks for the 45 years of service.”
The celebration of the 45 years of the Social Security Board is held under the theme- “Transform Reform Thrive: Social Security 45.”
The Social Security Board of St Kitts and Nevis has worked on the premiere pillar of the society, such as providing payments to the insured in situations such as employment injury, sickness, maternity, disability and old age, amongst others, from February 1, 1978.
The Board extended gratitude to the founding fathers, Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw, after whom the Headquarters is named, and E St John Payne, whose visionary work strengthened the organization founded on international principles of equity, solidarity, and universality.
It asserted that they will always remain grateful to all the former administrators, management, and staff whose contribution cannot be measured or minimized.
While extending gratitude, the Board stated, “We are grateful for your stewardship and thank you for your commitment and dedication to the Board’s mission to provide the best possible benefits to all insured.”

Social Security is a socially responsible organization and has always worked for nation-building through its various programs. Various donations have been made by the Board and worked for the upliftment of health and national security, education, capital investment in local development projects, and support to youth programs and NGOs; all add value to the core function of social security.
