St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis- Dr Terrance Drew announced that the existing student loans will be added to the Government’s graduate finance project. He said that the students will now receive a major reduction of the interest rate on their loans from nine percent (9%) to five percent (5%) per annum as of June 1st 2023.

PM Terrance Drew took to Facebook and shared an update on loan scheme. He said,” Existing student loans with the Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis (DBSKN) will be added to the Government’s Graduate Finance Project. Students will now receive a major reduction of the interest rate on their loans from nine percent (9%) to five percent (5%) per annum as of June 1st 2023.” 

PM Drew is committed to uplifting the educational sector and advancing the facilities for the students. He said,” Your Government is cognizant of the financial strain our students face after pursuing studies and we want that when students go to study, they can quickly transition into independent living.”

Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew, during his press conference, also announced several other initiatives, and one of them was Housing Revolution. Earlier, the Government of St Kitts and Nevis also visited the National Housing Corporation (NHC) Housing Fair after the Press Conference. The Housing Fair is open until 5:00 pm, and there are staff on hand to address any concerns they may have. 

Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew held a press conference with Members of the Cabinet to update citizens and residents on a number of matters of national importance, including the Government’s new housing revolution, improvements in healthcare, plans for the advancement of agriculture and growth in the tourism sector.

Prime Minister Terrance Drew also outlined his plans and agendas to uplift the socio-economic structure of St Kitts and Nevis. He outlined plans for health sector, tourism sector and educational sector.
