PM Skerrit thanks Tourism Minister of Saudi Arabia to visit Dominica

A diplomatic talk has been held between Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit and the Minister for Tourism from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, HE Ahmad Agil Alkhteeb, on Monday, February 21, 2022. The Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia arrived in Dominica to meet Prime Minister Skerrit, and the meeting took place at the Kempinski Hotel.

The primary purpose of the meeting is to strengthen the bilateral ties between the two countries and boost the tourism sector. Both the countries have discussed various agreements and initiatives through which the relations could be ramped up between the countries.

The dignitaries have also discussed various concerns related to the cooperation between Dominica and Saudi Arabia and also signed various agreements to boost the tourism sector so that the tourist from both countries could facilitate while visiting both the countries.

As per the reports, both the leaders mentioned the significance of the tourism sector for the economy of a country. The delegations have promised to work for the upliftment of the industry by inviting various programmes between the countries.

While emphasizing the meeting for the bilateral relations between the two countries, PM Skerrit expressed Dominica’s admiration for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and gave his commitment to deepening ties between both countries.

PM Skerrit also asserted that they have also signed various agreements and contracts which could facilitate the countries to boost the diplomatic relations with each other.

Earlier on October 20, 2021, Prime Minister Skerrit visited the United Arab Emirates and considered it a pretty successful trip.

Commonwealth of Dominica and the Middle East nation have had great relations for many years; on January 2020, Dominica situated its first mission to the Middle East by opening an embassy in Abu Dhabi.

Moreover, in February 2020, the visa-waiver agreement was also signed between Dominica and Saudi Arabia.

The agreement stated that any UAE citizen could visit Dominica without a prior visa and vice versa.

The Embassy of Dominica to the UAE is committed to two primary missions: representing Government in its outreach to the host nation and facilitating consular and other similar services to citizens within its area of support.
