On Wednesday, Prime Minister of Dominica Roosevelt Skerrit along with members of the Cabinet visited Joe Burton housing site to oversee the work going on for 37 housing units for the people who were relocated for the construction of new international airport of Dominica.

Dominica: On Wednesday, Prime Minister of Dominica Roosevelt Skerrit along with members of the Cabinet visited Joe Burton housing site to oversee the work going on for 37 housing units for the people who were relocated for the construction of new international airport of Dominica.
Boosting local business, PM Skerrit boasted that all the construction work is being done by the local contractors and all the services are offered and being provided by Dominicans only. “This is a major plus during this time of pandemic. They all are being assisted in one way or the other, so they could maintain the high quality construction.”

PM added that government is not leaving anyone behind and is engaging everyone to be a part of Dominica’s development. “Last time we were here while land was being cleared and now we are building the homes. I am happy for the local contractors and my advice for them is reinvest the funds to enhance the capacity, buy equipment and tools that are necessary for construction.”

Notably, government had announced earlier the construction of new international airport to welcome larger International airlines in Dominica.
