Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevlet Skerrit pays tribute to Veteran Journalist and Businessman Parry Bellot, who died at China Friendship hospital on Monday. According to some reports, he suffered from health issues and was treated.
PM Skerrit mourned the sudden demise of journalist Bellot and wrote a heartfelt note on his Facebook page.
PM wrote,” I am deeply saddened to hear the passing of Veteran Journalist Perry Bellot. I extend my condolences to his wife, children, and family on behalf of the government of Dominica.
By stating his passion and determination about media, PM said,” Mr Bellot has an eternal love for media, and was the commendable and trusted voice of government. He was always appreciated for his professionalism and efficient dissemination of public information.
“Mr Bellot was a man of strong eviction, who have efficiently practised media in Dominica. He diligently worked for the organization of the Dominica Media and Communication Association,” PM wrote in the post.
PM further asserted,” Bellot loved to a poet, and I admired his work to promote the art and culture of Dominica in their publications. Working as a Productivity Consultant to the Government of Dominica, he strengthened the civil servant’s competence and work ethic”.
Prime Minister said that we always respected his decisions on public sector management and to exercise good governance in the nation. Our government has also welcomed working with him on several projects.
“He had admired and supported our government’s decisions and policies but always remained fair and critical in discussions of public affairs and politics,” cited in the social media post.
PM outlined,” His objectivity and credibility can be an example for everyone how one can work efficiently on political matters and public affairs”.
By remembering his incredible legacy, PM added,” The legacy he left behind for us will always be great inspiration for everyone. His contribution to Dominica‘s development in the field of media and business will always be remembered. May he rest in peace and more love to his family and loved ones”.
