Roseau, Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit held cordial talks with the Ambassador of China to the Commonwealth of Dominica, Lin Xinjiang, on Monday, April 11, 2022. The meeting was held at the office of the Prime Minister in the Caribbean country.
Both the delegations have touched on various matters related to the strengthening of the diplomatic ties between China and Dominica. Prime Minister Skerrit has also given an update on the Dominica China Friendship Hospital and other ongoing activities in various parts of the country.
He further outlined that China is also assisting the government of Dominica in the construction of the Goodwill Secondary School. There are many projects which include the different schools that are being constructed through financial assistance from the government of China.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit noted, “In the course of our discussions, I was provided with an update on the Dominica China Friendship Hospital, which is nearing completion, as well as the ongoing activities at the One Mile Agricultural Station in Portsmouth. I also received a status update on the planned construction of six China-funded schools in Dominica. China has committed to the construction of the Goodwill Secondary School and the Thibaud, Tete Morne, Calibishie, Bellevue Chopin, and Sineku Primary Schools.”
Further, PM Skerrit also extended gratitude to the government of the People’s Republic of China to support the country in various developmental agendas.
He stated, “I reassured Ambassador Lin of Dominica’s commitment to friendly relations with the People’s Republic of China and expressed our gratitude for the support of many of our development initiatives over the years.”
While applauding Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit on his great efforts in the development of Dominica, one of the residents named Gertrude Williams said, “Continue The Great Work PM Done By You And Your Team. When Will Bozo And His Kabal Realize That Dominica Is In Good Hands And Stop Walking Before They Get Lost And Tell Papa To Go And Rest He Can’t Even Stand Up Far Less To Walk.”
