Roseau, Dominica: Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, applauded and extended greetings to Treneese Hamilton, Addison James and the entire team of the country on their performance at the recently concluded 49th CARIFTA Games.
While applauding athletes, PM Skerrit noted, “Our student-athletes, Treneese Hamilton, Addison James, and the entire Dominica team, made us proud at the recently concluded 49th CARIFTA Games, held in Jamaica.”
He also extended greetings to Hamilton, who had secured a Gold medal in the game. She coped the gold medal in Shot Put. On the other hand, he also congratulated James, who has won Silver in the CARIFTA 2022 held in Jamaica. The medal has been taken by him in Javelin by James.
In addition to that, he also encouraged other athletes to practise more and more to keep striving for excellence.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit also extended his support to the sports industry so that the country emerged stellar athletes for these types of competitions.
While greetings athletes, PM Skerrit stated, “Congratulations to the two athletes on their sterling performance. Miss Hamilton copped the Gold Medal in Shot Put and Mr James, the Silver in Javelin.”

Encouraging athletes, PM Skerrit emphasized, “I encourage them to keep striving for excellence. The Government of Dominica will continue to support the youth in the hope of seeing more of our sportsmen and women excel.”
He also encouraged women athletes to practise sports to become successful athletes.
In order to celebrate the tremendous victory of athletes in CARFITA 2022 in Jamaica, the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Community Development hosted a ceremony on Sunday to welcome the returning athletes from the 49th Edition of the CARIFTA Games in Jamaica.
Among these athletes were gold medalist, Under 20 shot put athlete, Treneese Hamilton and silver medalist, Under 17 Boys Javelin, Addison James. Congratulations to all the athletes
