Trinidad and Tobago: All the restrictions placed against the viral infection of the novel coronavirus will be removed in Trinidad and Tobago from Monday, April 4, 2022. Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley has made the announcement during a media conference held at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann today- Saturday, March 26, 2022.

While informing about the removal of the restrictions of COVID-19, PM Rowley said, “From Monday, April 4, 2022, all restrictions placed at safe zones in Trinidad and Tobago will be removed”.

Prime Minister Dr. Rowley said the following adjustments would be to the Public Regulations. The following adjustments would be from March 27, 2022.

  • From Sunday, March 27, 2022, every person is permitted to enter Trinidad and Tobago.
  • They will be allowed to present only a negative antigen test report of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • All other requirements for the Trinidad and Tobago Travel pass will remain.
  • However, Unvaccinated against the COVID-19 pandemic, foreigners will still not be allowed to enter Trinidad and Tobago.

Further, Prime Minister Keith Rowley also announced the public health protocols against the COVID-19, which will come into effect on March April 4, 2022. The adjustments are as follows:

  • There will be no limits on public gatherings. People are allowed to host any type of social gathering in the country without witnessing any restrictions.
  • There will be no restrictions to access the beaches and rivers. People could easily visit this places with full strength.
  • All schools in Trinidad and Tobago will re-open in April. The Ministry of Education will host a media conference to outline the details next week.
  • However, The wearing of face masks/coverings in public spaces and on public transportation will remain mandatory.
  • An updated list of the Public Health Regulations will be published by the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs.

While emphasizing the significance of being cautious against the COVID-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Rowley noted, “You will be required to control yourself.”
