PM Roosevelt Skerrit welcomes Latvian delegation to Dominica
Roseau, Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit welcomed the delegation from the Republic of Latvia in Dominica from May 15-25, 2023. The meeting was held as part of the Global SAI Accountability Initiative (GSAI).
PM Roosevelt Skerrit took to Facebook and shared glimpses of the meeting. He said, “I met, earlier this week with a delegation from the Republic of Latvia in Dominica from May 15-25 as part of the Global SAI Accountability Initiative (GSAI).”
Through the GSAI, the State Office of the Republic of Latvia has been paired with Dominica’s Office of the Director of Audit to provide advisory and peer support to enhance capacity and performance.
The delegation included Rolands Irklis, Auditor General of the Republic of Latvia; Silvija Nora Kalnins, Head of Strategy and Development Unit of the State Audit Office of the Republic of Latvia; and Emils Pulmanis, Development Project Manager of Strategy and Development Unit of the State Audit Office of the Republic of Latvia visited Dominica.
Dominica’s Director of Audit, Maylina Jno Ville, Ann Marie George of the Audit Department, and Missi Henderson, Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, attended the meeting.
Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit discussed bilateral and multilateral cooperation with the delegation of the Republic of Latvia. The meeting marked a significant step in the efforts of the country to strengthen diplomatic relations with foreign nations.
The meeting featured several matters of concern, such as tourism, agriculture, climate change, and many more. Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit is committed to strengthening diplomatic ties with foreign nations in several fields, such as trade and economy.
The diplomatic relations between Dominica and the Republic of Latvia were established in 2007.
The meeting was appreciated by the citizens of Dominica, who lauded PM Roosevelt Skerrit for his efficient Leadership.
