PM Roosevelt Skerrit, Melissa Skerrit wishes Independence Day to Dominicans 

Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica- Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, extended greetings and wishes to the people on 44th Independence Day.

Roseau, Dominica: Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica- Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, extended greetings and wishes to the people on 44th Independence Day. The celebration was held under the theme- One Dominica, One People, One Vision. 

On an auspicious day, he reminds the Dominicans of the need to unite in purpose to build a thriving future for the people and country. Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit also asked people to join the National Day Observance Ceremony at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium. 

PM Skerrit, through his Facebook page, noted, “As we celebrate under the theme ‘One Dominica, One People, One Vision,’ let us be reminded of the need to unite in purpose to build a thriving future for our people and country.” 

While inviting people to the National Day Observance Ceremony, he stated that may God Bless Dominica. Please join in at 4: 30 p.m. for the National Day Observance Ceremony at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.

Melissa Poponne Skerrit- Parliamentary Representative for Roseau Central Constituency, also extended wishes on Independence Day. She also dropped a series of pictures of the Creole Friday on her social media.

She asserted, “Happy 44th Independence Day, Dominica. Here is a Throwback Thursday of Creole Friday for the culture. Can’t wait to see you in full regalia today.”

Further, the Health Minister of Dominica- Dr Irving McIntrye also took to Facebook and poured wishes on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day.  He stated that today, Dominica celebrated the 44th anniversary of its Independence. He called it a beautiful day. 

A well-attended National day parade ceremony in which deserving individuals received meritorious awards in diverse fields, all contributing to our development as an Independent Nation.

Dr McIntrye stated that the Prime Minister gave a masterpiece address to the Nation articulating how we have grown from strength to strength inspite of Natural Disasters and external shocks, The faith in God as a Nation and the comfort that there is still better to come.

“Afterwards, we took time to relax and share some love at the botanical gardens under a clear moonlit sky, “he added.
