Roseau, Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit have conducted a meeting with Malgorzata Wasilewska, who is the Head of the European Union Delegation to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, the OECS and CARICOM.
On Tuesday, May 24, 2022. the meeting was held at the office of the Prime Minister, and they both discussed various matters of concern.
Through her social media post, he outlined his meeting and noted,” I met today with H.E Malgorzata Wasilewska, Head of the European Union Delegation to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, the OECS and CARICOM.”
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit also stated that the Head of the European Union Delegation would participate in the commissioning ceremonies for two Regional Emergency Shelters at Castle Bruce and Jimmit on Wednesday.

Outlining some aspcets of the facilities, PM Roosevelt Skerrit stated that they are funded by the Euripean Union under the project named 11th EDF State and Resilience Building Contract for Rehabilitation post-Hurricane Maria.
He exclaimed, “Her Excellency is in Dominica to participate in the commissioning ceremonies for two Regional Emergency Shelters at Castle Bruce and Jimmit on Wednesday. “
PM Skerrit added that the facilities are funded under the ‘European Union 11th EDF State and Resilience Building Contract for Rehabilitation post-Hurricane Maria.’
Further, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit also extended gratitude to the European Union for their incredible support of different developmental projects.
He also asserted that European Commission is supporting them to achieve their aim of being the first climate-resilient nation.
“I conveyed our gratitude to the European Union for support of Dominica’s aspirations to become a climate-smart and resilient country,” underlined PM Roosevelt Skerrit.
Earlier, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit received a courtesy call from Lilian Chatterjee, High Commissioner of Canada in Barbados.
He empathized that they discussed areas of cooperation between Dominica and Canada and the strengthening of our partnership in education, climate adaptation and the building of resilient infrastructure, including in the Kalinago Territory.
