Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit further announced that all resources necessary to aid in the search for Kernisha Etienne would be made available. He called on all able-bodied public officers to avail themselves of the Command Center to be part of the search and rescue efforts.

Roseau, Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit was briefed at the Command Center last night upon his return to Dominica. Prime Minister had been attending the Ninth Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles, California.

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit further announced that all resources necessary to aid in the search for Kernisha Etienne would be made available. He called on all able-bodied public officers to avail themselves of the Command Center to be part of the search and rescue efforts.

Through his social media post, PM Skerrit noted, “I was briefed by the police at the Command Center in Warner upon my return to Dominica last night. The search for Kernisha Etienne continues this morning, and I have asked all able-bodied public officers willing to join the effort to report on this matter.” 

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit also commented on the abduction of Kernisha Etienne of Warner from Los Angeles, California, where he is attending the IX Summit of the Americas.

Further, based on a request from the Government of Dominica, the French Government has provided a helicopter to aid in the search and rescue efforts.

While extending gratitude to the French team, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit stated, “We welcome the French team, which has arrived with a sniffer dog to assist in the search for missing Kernisha Etienne, who was abducted from her home on Tuesday evening.” 

PM Skerrit urged, “I ask that you keep Kernisha and her family in your prayers.” 

The search operation for the 12-year-old girl has been conducted by various government agencies, the private sector and members of the public and the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force continued to solicit the support of the public in the search and rescue efforts. 

A 12-year-old girl was abducted by an unstable man on Wednesday, June 8, 2022.
