PM Philip J Pierre stated that after a halt of two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the country had witnessed thousands of Carnival revelers who will play their mas in the parade of the bands.

Castries, Saint Lucia: Philip J Pierre- Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, expressed pleasure in the successful hosting of the Lucian Carnival started on July 7, 2022. He also viewed and enjoyed the Parade of the Bands on July 19, 2022. 

PM Philip J Pierre stated that after a halt of two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the country had witnessed thousands of Carnival revelers who will play their mas in the parade of the bands. 

Through his social media, Prime Minister Pierre penned down his feelings and wrote, “As is customary, I will be viewing and enjoying the Parade of the Bands from the sidelines. After a two-year hiatus and months of planning, today, thousands of carnival revelers will play their mas. Please have a safe and enjoyable masquerade.” 

Prime Minister Philip J Pierre extended gratitude to the various carnival band owners, entertainers, promoters, stakeholders and essential services for contributing to the growth of the tourism industry.

He asserted, “To the carnival band owners, entertainers, promoters, stakeholders and essential services personnel, thank you for contributing to the growth of the industry; we will continue to support you. Be responsible. Be safe. Have fun.” 

Furthermore, Ernest Hilaire, Minister for Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information and Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, thanks Saint Lucians for their support and encourages everyone to stay safe as they go into culminate Saint Lucia Carnival 2022 with two days of parade. 

Ernest Hilaire stated that tonight is Colour Me Red at Daren Sammy Cricket Ground, and the headliner is the one and only Trinidadian Songstress, Patrice Roberts.

Deputy Prime Minister asserted that the country had witnessed a parade of the bands with the successful hosting of the Carnival 2022. He added that” I think that the song “Happy Carnival” is quite fitting for the days ahead. Take a listen.” 

The Carnival festival of Saint Lucia has witnessed huge growth in the people and boosted the tourism industry.
